Kevin Gillis

Executive Producer

Kevin Gillis is one of the executive producers and the managing partner of the animation division of Breakthrough Films & Television (entitled Breakthrough Animation)

As one of Canada's leading independent producers, Kevin Gillis was the creator, producer, director and head writer of the highly acclaimed, Gemini award-winning animated family series, The Raccoons. In 1990, Kevin produced the theatrical feature The Nutcracker Prince, which featured the voices of Peter O'Toole and Kiefer Sutherland. Kevin co-founded Skyvision Entertainment, John Labatt Limited's television production division. As executive producer of Skyvision, his credits include Robocop: The Series, Heart of Courage, Lynette Jennings' Homeworks, Pet Connection, and the two-hour pilot for F/X The Series. During his term as executive vice-president and executive producer of Catalyst Entertainment, Kevin executive produced a series of MOW's and television series, notably Eckhart, which won the Prix d'excellence francophones/ L'Alliance pour l'enfant et la television, and was nominated for a 2002 Gemini Award for Best Animated Show or Series.

Kevin recently executive produced I Was a Rat, the MOW which won the BANFF Rockie Award for Best Children's Production and Special Jury Award for Best Independent Canadian English Production at the 2002 BANFF Festival. His shows have been broadcast in more than 160 countries worldwide.
